Cuter than a basket of puppies, the Figaro is a retro-styled happy little car.
It debuted at the 28th Tokyo Motor Show in 1989, under the theme “Back to the Future.” Response was so enthusiastic, Nissan launched Figaro sales in Japan in 1991 and limited production to 20,000 units. Nissan officials expected demand to outstrip supply. They were right. Figaros were delivered, using a lottery system, with 20,000 made in four colours representing the seasons of the weather.
The Nissan Figaro satisfies “a zestful desire for a good time,” and is a complete head turner.
