‘Ursula’ is a beautiful 1981 Mercedes 380SL in ‘Signal Red’ Colour Code 568, that is rare on several counts.
First, this car has been up until recently my daily drive, which is significant given the deterioration that occurs in these vehicles if sitting idle or in storage. It has been maintained to be driven every day in all conditions. Everything is original, everything works, so all you have to do is keep driving.
Second, the car is a genuine Australian delivered right hand drive, as evidenced by a ‘birth certificate’ that has been obtained from Mercedes Australia. Engine and VIN numbers match up with original documents so you can be sure this is not a late eighties luxury car tax busting import from the UK or Hong Kong.
I have owned the car since late 2006, during which time it has been maintained by mechanics that specialise in Mercedes classics, in particular the SL series.
